One of Denver's top Adult Community Bands
The band is composed of musicians who have high school and/or college band, orchestra, or wind ensemble experience. There is no cost to join the band! We provide a formal uniform jacket and you will be asked to purchase a band polo shirt for summer performances.

Balanced instrumentation in a concert band is important for the quality of the sound, the ability to play a variety of pieces, and the overall experience for the players, conductors, and the audience. It requires an adequate number of instruments in each section to produce a characteristic concert band sound. The GECB section leaders are responsible for maintaining this balance as it relates to their section and the overall balance of the band as a whole.

When we receive an email expressing interest in joining the band, we will contact you regarding current openings for your instrument. In the event that a particular section does not have an opening, you will have the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list. As the band membership fluctuates, we will contact you to confirm your interest and availability in joining us.

Auditions are informal. Section leaders will determine your level of proficiency, place you in the proper chair and explain what is expected of you to become a fully seated member of the band. We practice year-round, every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. We practice at Wheat Ridge United Methodist Church located at 7530 West 38th Ave in Wheat Ridge.

What band members are saying...
After being part of community bands for my entire adult life, I was really missing being part of a concert band when I first moved to Denver and didn't know anyone. I found out that GECB was performing near my home and went to a concert to check them out. I was so impressed with their performance that I decided to join! They have been a joy to play with and I've made many amazing friends. This is a fantastic group of people and rehearsals are really fun!

Being in the Golden Eagle Concert Band has made me a better clarinet player and meeting others in the band- many make you feel like family.

Playing my horn gives me great joy, and sharing the experience with the musicians in the band adds so much. I have played with the group for over 20 years now, and hope to have many more opportunities to share beautiful musical moments with my band mates as well as our community.
